This hotel offers budget lodging across the street from Kamaole III, the largest of three public park beaches, and is within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Like all beaches in South Maui Kam III is largely uncrowded. There is good snorkeling among rocks and coral, a protected beach with grassy lawn and children's playground.
Guests enjoy comfortable, spacious living units without much in the way of hotel amenities, aside from the pool, saunas, shuffleboard court, and barbecue grills. All Condos are the same 2 bedroom 2 bath. Some have been remodeled. There are 4 floors and elevator access. There is no air conditioning but it is a consensus by all writers at Trip Advisor that is is never needed. They note, all rooms have ceiling fans and when you open the windows you get a nice ocean breeze.
Some believe these are the best priced two bedroom condominiums in Maui that have ocean views and are near the beach. Prices vary widly among the units depending on the condition of the unit. There are some off season specials of $80/night with high season at $300. Generally $130-$220 seems the norm.
Being so close to the beach is a great plus but remember, there will be road noise. Maui tends to go to bed early so noise should be minimal at night. Most renters seem to remember the views, proximity to the beach and ability to listen to the surf. Others don't want the traffic.
