Wailea is a luxury resort community running along the sunny south coast of Maui. A paved beach walk begins at the Renaissance Hotel and runs the length of Wailea (about 2 mi) on a low bluff along the ocean. Here there are many beaches to snorkel, swim or just lay in the sun on. It ends at Polo Beach club where Makena begins, just south of Wailea. Makena offers similar quality resorts in a more remote setting.
