Built in 1975 and located adjacent to the north end of sandy Keawakapu Beach in sunny, south Maui, Kihei Surfside Resort is a 6-story building with 83 apartments each with fabulous ocean views from every room. This is the quiet end of Kihei, adjacent to Wailea. From here you can walk for miles along the beach to restaurants and shopping, or enjoy the immaculately kept lawn, swaying palm trees and wonderful snorkeling just outside your door.

Clean, comfortable, well priced self-catering accommodations. Trip Advisor renters rate this property with 3-5 stars saying, "I like the location for south Maui beaches because you are right in the middle - at the end of Kihei but near Wailea"... and "Rocky reef ocean side means excellent snorkeling with a large variety of fish. We saw more fish there than on our dive".

The complex has a delightful ocean front pool with deluxe picnic & grill area, elevators and plenty of free parking. Complimentary Internet access is available in many of the units. This friendly complex makes it easy to meet your neighbors & fellow vacationers as it is customary for the residents of the Kihei Surfside to gather each evening for cocktails on the shore near the tiki torches for a traditional Hawaiian sundown ceremony.

Being able to see the condo you will rent prior to your commitment is very important as the condos are individually owned and vary in outfitting, maintenance and decor. Many condos have been remodeled. Look for our Starfish rating for the condos we know meet our high standards. At Kihei Surfside, the price is good and views & location can't be beat, especially if you don't want to have to cross Kihei Rd to wander the beach. Sizes of the condos range from 545 sf to 950 sf.

The grounds of this property are exceptional. An extensive and immaculately kept lawn area with dozens of lounge chairs, a heated swimming pool, deluxe barbeque facilities, and plenty of lawn for play, a putting green, horseshoes and croquet make this a delightful spot. In season, there are daily whale sightings from both the grounds and lanais. Even the Pacific Whale Foundation thinks this is a good spot to watch whales, they conduct their annual whale count from the property in February.

Located at one of Maui's most popular beaches, Keawakapu we enjoy strolling a 1/2 mile on the beach to access the Wailea Ocean front walk and wander past high end hotels, shopping and restaurants.

Stroll to the north and you pass Kihei Boat Ramp - a great spot to catch Molokini Snorkel boats without the long drive to Lahaina. Continue on the gravel path to Kamaole III beach park - the beginning of Kihei's 7 miles of ocean front. Many of the beaches here have life guards and beach volley ball and skate board facilities. Family style restaurants and shops are close enough to walk to.

Please note that the units do not have air conditioning but the wonderful tropical breezes mean you won't typically feel the need when windows are open. All of the units have multi-speed ceiling fans in the living rooms and bedrooms. Elevators make accessing the condo with luggage a breeze. The quietest rooms are away from the elevator lobby, toward the ocean (makai).
