SOUTH MAUI BEACH FRONT RESORTS
Most Maui Condos are less than a 5 minute drive from at least 5 beaches. Most condos on this site are less than a 5 minute walk from a beach but there are a few Resorts that are right ON THE BEACH. The links under the photos above will take you to the RESORT PAGE for each of those beach front condos. We check ownership of all our listings so can guarantee these listings are legitimate.
For those who don't want to cross a road to get to the beach, the links above will allow you to explore a bit about the various ocean and beach front South Maui Condos on this website. The RESORT pages give more in depth descriptions of the Resort and the condos available for rental directly from the owner.
In general, Maalaea and Kihei condos are a bit smaller and more affordable than those in Wailea and Makena. Wailea is a true resort and gives the pampered feel that many want. Makena, the farthest south you can go on Maui, is still somewhat untouched - access to resources may be more limited here but the condos and homes are preferred by many.
All condos in the Makena & Wailea Resorts and the Kihei Resorts of Hale Kamaole, Kamaole One, Keawakapu and Maui Kamaole meet our strict membership requirements. For other Kihei and Maalaea RESORTS, be sure to look for condos with next to their name. This Star Fish of Excellence Rating is given to condos we have personally inspected and are considered to be decorated, updated, outfitted and maintained among the best of their complex.
SOUTH MAUI BEACHES
With 120 miles of coastline and over 30 miles of beaches, Maui is one of the best places to find the perfect beach for your needs. Many are easily accessible beach parks with lifeguards, picnic facilities and restrooms. Others are undeveloped, "secret spots" off the beaten path. All offer sparkling crystal-blue waters, tropical tradewinds, and azure skies that go on forever. White, red and even black sand beaches can be found here and offer a selection of activities from surfing, windsurfing, snorkeling, swimming or beachcombing suitable for families or the avid sports enthusiast.
Here is a run down of some of the most popular beaches in South Maui. Always follow the directives of the lifeguards and use common sense. Beach conditions change daily. For info on more Maui Beaches, and snorkeling spots, here are some wonderful resources:

Sugar Beach
Stretching more than three miles, the South Kihei Beach runs all the way around to Maalaea. It is one of the longest white sand beaches in the world, and has a constant breeze coming across the island.

Charlie Young
This is right in Kihei, on Maui's South Shore. It is one of the best places to learn how to surf. The water is warm and shallow. and there are constant, regular breakers, giving beginners a chance to learn how to control their boards
Kamaole I, II, III
The "Kam's" are almost more park than beach. In addition to access to the ocean, the Kamaole parks also have large grassy areas for picnics and parties. With ample parking, lifeguards, volleyball courts and excellent swimming conditions, it is no wonder the Kamaole Parks are local favorites.
Keawekapu
Another of the lesser-known beaches, this beach is right next to the Five Palms in Kihei, on Maui's South Shore. Classic views and varied conditions mark this beach. A beachcomber's delight, this beach offers a half mile walk to the Wailea Resort and wonderful sandy access well into the water.
Wailea Beaches
This includes all of the beaches in front of the main resorts on South Maui, from the Aston to the Kea Lani. They are all white sand beaches with lava flows creating natural reefs teeming with marine life. The waves are usually not very large, so this is a great place to learn to snorkel.
Polo Beach: Popular with Maui residents and visitors. Excellent swimming and snorkeling, picnic tables and restrooms are available. Named "America's Best Beach" in 1999.
Makena - Big Beach
This is one of Maui's most famous beaches with a seemingly endless expanse of white sand. Over a mile long, and a hundred yards wide, it is possible to have hundreds of people sharing the beach, and still have nobody sitting near you! The waves are big enough for body surfing, without getting too dangerous. It's one of the farthest points along South Maui, but it's worth the drive! one of Maui's signature beaches with a seemingly endless expanse of white sand. Picnic facilities and restrooms are available. THE SHORE BREAK can be very dangerous - pay attention to signs.
Makena - Little Beach
Right around the corner from Big Beach is the Little Beach. Same sand, same sun, but this one an informal (and nominally illegal) clothing optional beach with excellent body surfing.
Makena - Maluaka Beach
